Mailbox forwarding

Confirm external destinations and forward clean incoming messages to your existing inbox.

Add a forwarding destination

Open a mailbox's forwarding controls and add an address you own. Each mailbox supports up to three external destinations. The destination receives a confirmation email; open its link and press Confirm before forwarding starts. Links expire after seven days.

Confirmation resends are limited to once a minute. An account can start ten new forwards an hour. Managing forwarding requires access to the mailbox.

What gets forwarded

Only clean mail that passes spam and DMARC checks is forwarded. Automated mail, bulk/list mail and auto-replies are excluded. Quarantined messages remain in Inbox.

Forwards contain plain text, the original sender as Reply-To, and a footer identifying the mailbox. Attachment names are listed, but attachment files are not included. Original HTML is not relayed.

Sending requirements

The project needs an approved, verified sending domain. Forwards use the normal sending pipeline and count against sending quota; suppressions apply. SendPanda prefers the mailbox's own sending domain where available.

A message is not forwarded back to its own sender or to the mailbox. Targets on other SendPanda inboxes are refused. Each mailbox is limited to 60 forwards an hour and 300 a day. Forwarding is idempotent per message and target.

Diagnose a missing forward

Check that the destination is confirmed, the message is not quarantined or automated, sending is ready, and account quota is available. If mailbox access was removed, forwarding rules for that member are cleared. The original message can still be reviewed in Inbox by assigned members.
