Who can send for your domain?
SPF publishes the senders allowed to use a domain in the SMTP envelope, often called the MAIL FROM or Return-Path domain. That can be a subdomain such as mail.example.com, even when the visible From address is hello@example.com.
What this checker inspects
We read TXT records, join DNS string fragments, identify duplicate SPF policies and follow public include and redirect records within a bounded lookup budget. Findings flag common problems such as recursive includes, invalid IP mechanisms and a policy that authorizes every sender.
Understanding the lookup count
SPF limits lookup-triggering terms along the evaluated path to ten. Our count explores branches without a sender IP, so it is an inventory rather than a pass/fail test of that limit. An a or mx mechanism can require additional DNS work; macros and sender-specific outcomes need a full SPF evaluator.
What to do next
Publish one SPF record per name and include each legitimate sender in that policy. For SendPanda, copy the exact SPF hostname and value from your domain setup screen. Avoid replacing your root-domain policy with a provider example.
SPF publication does not prove inbox placement or DMARC alignment. Learn more in the sending domain guide and the SPF specification.
